After a wild few minutes that encompassed virtually all facets of mixed martial arts, Fedor “The Last Emperor” Emelianenko took out the “West Linn Gangster” Chael P Sonnen via TKO in the first round of their Bellator Heavyweight Grand Prix fight. In the Bellator 208 Main Event Fedor and Sonnen squared off in the semi-finals to determine who would face Ryan Bader, who won a dominant victory over Matt Mitrione in the other side of the semi-final bracket.
Bader is currently the Light Heavyweight Champion and looks to become the promotions first ever “double champ” when he attempts to capture a second belt while simultaneously holding on to the 205lb Championship. The Heavyweight Grand Prix will conclude on 26 January in Inglewood California when The Last Emperor and Ryan Bader challenge one another for the vacant Bellator Heavyweight Title.
