Undefeated Heavyweight Justin Ledet set to Debut at Light Heavyweight

According to an Instagram post from UFC Heavyweight Justin "El Blanco" Ledet (9-0) his official debut at 205lb will take place in Hamburg, Germany on 22 July. Pictured below is the information about the event, UFC Fight Night 133, and his opponent Aleksander Rakic.

Ledet first revealed his aspirations to make the drop on the MMA Latest News Roundtable Podcast. "I don't have anything lined up, I'm just staying ready. I'm moving down to 205. So I'll see what I can do in this new division," he told MMA Latest back in February. "The only reason I was walking around that heavy was because I just wasn't eating right. After that I told my management 'we're moving down to 205'."

Undefeated, Ledet obviously did very well in the Heavyweight division. He dominated Chase Sherman in his UFC debut, which was on very short notice. El Blanco followed up the win with a Performance of the Night submission over Mark Godbeer, especially impressive considering his background is in pro Boxing.

His opponent, Rakic started his pro MMA career with a loss, but hasn't lost again. After the debut loss he went on a 9-fight win streak with 8 in a row coming by way of stoppage (7 KOs and 1 submission). He is coming off another win, in his UFC which is his only decision victory. With the recent lack of depth issues plaguing the Light Heavyweight Division, an impressive win could possibly put either of these fighters into the mix.
